(NEWS RELEASE) With 130 million South Asian girls likely to have no choice but into very very early wedding by 2030, the us government of Nepal is hosting a convening on with the legislation to finish son or daughter wedding, specially concentrating on the way the not enough federal federal government accountability is resulting in these peoples liberties violations against women.
The convening today includes officials from user states regarding the Southern Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)—including representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Asia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka— users of civil culture while the Southern Asia Initiative to get rid of Violence against Children (SAIEVAC) which led the introduction of an action that is regional to get rid of son or daughter wedding set for enforcement in 2015. “Too numerous girls in Southern Asia are forced into wedding and robbed of these youth,” said Melissa Upreti, local manager find-bride for Asia during the Center for Reproductive Rights.
“Governments in your community were complicit in violating the essential liberties of girls by failing woefully to effortlessly prohibit and discipline son or daughter marriages. It’s time South Asian governments just take the tangible actions required to eradicate kid wedding in the area through legislation reform and enforcement.”
